About Gary Moore

Robert William Gary Moore
(4 April 1952 – 6 February 2011) was an Irish rock guitarist and singer-songwriter born in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Beginning in the 1960s, Moore played with Phil Lynott and Brian Downey during his teenage years, leading him to memberships of the Irish bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy, and British band Colosseum II. Moore shared the stage with such blues and rock musicians as B.B. King, Albert King, John Mayall, Jack Bruce, Albert Collins, George Harrison, and Greg Lake, as well as having a solo career.

The Gary Moore Legacy

With a career that spanned over four decades, Gary’s music has included many genres including rock, heavy rock, celtic rock, progressive rock and of course, the blues.  Gary and his music continue to inspire so many people across the globe.  On behalf of Gary’s friends & family and his growing legion of fans, we will remember him with a memorial figurative bronze sculpture, to be installed in his hometown of Belfast.
